Project Education Sudan is proud to announce our corporate partnership with
LÄRABAR TO BUID KITCHEN FOR SUDANESE SCHOOL CHILDREN DENVER, CO, December 01, 2007 - LÄRABAR (www.larabar.com), manufacturer of the Original Fruit and Nut Bar®, proudly announces that it will fund the school kitchen in the Jonglei Hope Secondary Academy in Maar, Sudan. This project will be implemented in partnership with Project Education Sudan, a non-profit organization. Both LÄRABAR and Project Education Sudan are headquartered in Denver, Colorado. “We at LÄRABAR are honored to work with Project Education Sudan, to support them in this ambitious project and to provide sustenance for the children of the Jonglei Hope Secondary Academy”, said Lara Merriken, CEO and Founder of LÄRABAR. “Working with a fellow Denver-based organization on this initiative is an additional point of pride for us,” she added. Carol Francis-Rinehart, President and Executive Director of Project Education Sudan added, “The LÄRABAR funded kitchen will provide these children with lunch, which may be the only meal they will receive all day. We are grateful to LÄRABAR for their generosity.” In addition to feeding the children at school, the kitchen and dining facility will be made available for community use in the evenings. The school kitchen will be a gathering point for the people of Maar, bringing a sense of community and sustainability to the region.
